ABOUT THE ARTIST
Songwriters Kathleen Grace, Leslie Stevens and Jamie Drake have been friends and collaborators on the LA music scene for many years. The trio first performed Grace's arrangement of the Tom Waits song "The Briar And The Rose" on on her 2014 album No Place To Fall produced by Sheldon Gomberg (Lucinda Williams, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite). They have since performed works by Ryan Adams and Linda Ronstadt along with their own original music. Their group “The Lemon Trees” was formed in late 2014 and this is their first official recording featuring their new a cappella version of the Tom Wait’s composition.
Kathleen Grace's latest release No Place To Fall navigates the "elusive common ground between forlorn country soul, honky tonk bounce and elastic jazz balladry" (ICON). The album has garnered rave reviews for Grace's pure sound and her ability to meld musical genres. A songwriter and song stylist, Grace has four albums to her credit and has toured the US, Europe and South America. Grace is a passionate collaborator and has numerous side projects including new releases coming from the band Fleeting Heart and pianist Josh Nelson. Jamie Drake is a songwriter, a well-traveled soul and interpretive singer. Originally from the midwest, she's found a home in the mellow climate of Los Angeles. Jamie has written and toured with Tim Robbins, worked and recorded on Moby's forthcoming album, and has several recording projects to date (Nobel, Burning Branches, Jamie Drake). Leslie Stevens has performed her endearing American roots compositions on N.P.R.’s Mountain Stage, and released two records with her band Leslie Stevens and The Badgers, touring nationally to rave reviews. Her credits include studio work for Brian Wilson and Father John Misty, and her original compositions have been licensed by Showtime, Fox, ABC and NBC. She has had the privilege of singing live with Jackson Browne, Joe Walsh, and Lucinda Williams. A solo debut recorded with critically acclaimed producer and artist Jonathan Wilson is set for a Fall 2015 release. Leslie lives and works in Los Angeles.
